EVES COMES AFTER KIT (Carsonbrothers, #1)

Staying away from Kit Carson had been impossible for Eve Johnson from the very first moment they had met.
Even after her dismissal, he refused to leave her alone.

He'd promised to keep her safe, never to lie to her and love her unconditionally.
So why had he broken her heart?

With secrets that he'd revealed and the hurt he had caused, she had walked away from him with more than just the love that they had created together.
Was there more to their story, or was Eve destined to live with this responsibility alone?

Spoilers ahead so if you have not read the first book be warned! I must confess I was quite curious about this continuation but unfortunately what I found were many cliches and inconsistencies. In addition there was no development of the characters. I can't buy the couple's HEA. In the first book we had to swallow H's various sexual escapades even after he met her, and particularly to me this is not something I like to see in the romances I read. The first book ended with a cliff of an alleged H cheat, which was very badly explained in the second book at all. Supposedly H was kissing OW in a gym to fool the h pursuers. In a gym ??? And they needed to be that convincing ?! 🤮🤮🤮🤮How about walking around each other? This OW besides H's partner was a former lover. It was not clear if he slept with her after he met her. He just said that the last time was "when he didn't know what he wanted" hmmmmm that sure doesn't make the reader very safe by the way H and h relationship started, doesn't it? 🙄🙄🙄🙄 So this OW was disguised as if it were there to deceive the pursuers, who should be too stupid not to notice the difference! What kind of criminal organization is this? And why can H be seen all the time with h and then right after the same day being with OW? It was understood that H to OW had several meetings "pretending to be a couple" behind the back of the h and there was no explanation of what was going on at those meetings. If it was like what her friend saw at the gym then to me this is very unpleasant even though I knew it was a job. OW later turned out to be psychotic and still in love with H. In one of the scenes he comes home very drunk and later learns that he was with OW who was always his confidant. And that was not explained either as well as the fact that he keeps lying repeatedly to h to "protect her" (really?!) Very conniving and as I said earlier inconsistent. The author could have added at least H's POV for the reader to really know what happened between him and OW (who knows in a future book?) Because this H definitely didn't convince me. In the end is still added a flirtation of another co-worker with the H that happens in front of the h, which deals with this very naturally, perhaps to show the maturity of the relationship but as I said, nop, not convinced. Now, people who have read some of my reviews know of my intolerance of this kind of situation and I find myself to be very "blunt" with my criticism. But I understand that Miss Dyble is starting her steps as a writer and has my sympathy. So, as a reader, I just hope she gets away from the misogynistic cliches and sameness we've seen out there in thousands of other writers. Despite everything I believe I will be following with the series and I wish the author good luck.

This picks right up where Kit ended. I thought this was going to be a novella length story wrapping things up and that the second book in the series was going to be more focused on one of the other Carson brothers but this was very much a full length novel about Kit and Eve.

There is a lot happening in this story. A lot of suspense and drama with a whole pile of uncertainty for Eve. The more Kit hides from her the less faith she has in him. She is feeling quite vulnerable right now and when people she cares about become targets she is determined to find out the truth.

Kit has never had to open up the way he needs to with Eve. In fact it goes completely against his beliefs to be so honest with anyone but Eve is different and if he wants to have a future with her he knows what he needs to do. He knows it will hurt her initially and that is the last thing he ever wanted to do after promising her he wouldn’t.

One thing is certain, there will never be a dull moment for this couple, they will be forever bonded and they need to figure out a way to make it work for them.

This is quite a fast paced story at times and yet quite repetitive in other parts so I skimmed a little bit to get to the ‘meat’ of the story. This second book managed to wrap things up with Kit and Eve and indicated who the next book may be about so will be interesting to see where things go from here for the Carson brothers.

I am really loving this series and its characters especially Kits whole band of brothers because they are a riot and they made us laugh out loud the entire story. This is a love story that is complicated as there is more always going so much going on behind the scenes than you realize all the while Kit and Eves are trying to navigate their fairly new relationship status along with having a baby.Talk about drama!

Eves for me this time got on my nerves a bit because she seemed to act more like a child than an adult most of the time and this women is having a baby as she just seemed that she was constantly running from one situation or another. Was it hormones ? The stress of someone trying to kill her ? Or was it her own fears and emotional stress or ptsd ?

Kit is one of my favorite characters as he has grown so much since we met him and we just love him. What we love most about him though is his devotion to Eves and is all about protecting his loved ones.I love the chemistry he has with Eves and the love he has for her is heartfelt and true and also because he is always putting her first tending to her emotional needs as well as physical ones and we just loved that about him.Kit is down right just and awesome character that you can't help but love even that that cocky side of him.

Favorite scene would have to be the sleepover and when your reading about it you will be laughing and loud because it was down right hilarious and a whole lot of fun.

Overall we loved this story and we are looking forward to Nick's story next. One thing that make this series interesting and fun is its characters whether it is Kit's brothers or the men of Delta even the crazy best friend they are all so love-able .We loved that the story got a little more interesting and there was a few more twists and turns thrown into the mix that you did not see coming this time around.I have to say that we love the Australian slang that this author throws in when describing certain situations. This story is an on going one and although the story doesn't end in a cliffhanger its a continuing one because the Eves story is far from over and the danger factor even more intense as there is a whole more at stake this time around. The story left you still with a whole lot of unanswered questions though like who is still threatening Eves and who wants her dead and why ?Are the same ones who killed her parents? Are her loved ones is danger too ? And so forth.....Time will tell if we get answers and we are so looking forward to seeing what happens next.

The author has done it again.
This was a long awaited read for me following on from her debut book and boy was it worth the wait.
Eves picks up right where we left off in book 1 and doesn't let you go even after finishing the last page.
In this book you'll find the answers from burning questions you have from the first book throwing curveballs along the way you won't see coming.
What are you waiting for?
Dive into the Delta world today.. You won't regret it.
Looking forward to Nick's book!

Eves is book two in the Carson Brothers series. Make sure you read book one Kit first. I loved Kit but this book was so much more.

These two characters pulled on so many of my emotions. My heart broke for Eve. As for the other brothers...oh my dayz I can’t wait to read their stories.

A fantastic story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I’m so looking forward to reading more of the Carson’s Brothers.

What an epically proportioned fantastical book. I have been waiting for this book from the moment I read the last words in KIT and it certainly did not disappoint.

I would certainly recommend that you have KIT fresh in your mind before reading this as it picks up literally where it ended. However there are recaps and back story info cleverly filtered into the first few chapters.
The suspense and plot twists kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the book. Whilst some questions were answered, in true suspense style lots of new ones spring up and are left unanswered .... and yes I’m desperate to read the next book now. I don’t want to put any spoilers in here so all I’ll say is you should definitely read this book and anything else S R Dyble writes.
On a side note I especially love how it’s written in British English and British slang words throughout. It’s so great to read something based so close to home for me.

I loves this second part! I felt the frustrations of both characters and loved how the story came together. I always think that a good story ends with you feeling something and I felt good at the end of the story. I am definitely looking forward to more from the Carson brothers!

I think we’ve all been patiently awaiting this next chapter in Kit and Eve’s story and I was not disappointed one bit. SR Dyble takes on an emotional rollercoaster ride, Eve is still reeling from everything she’s learned and she is still having trust issues with Kit and his brothers. Kit and Eve have a connection that’s unbreakable, but if Kit won’t keep her in the loop of what’s going on, will they make it? You will want to strangle them both at one point, but understand what they are both dealing with. This book will have you on the edge of your seat in anticipation of what’s to come. Great read, loved it and can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Amazing job! I love this book!! This book picks up right where book 1 left off.. We get so many answers to all the unanswered questions in book 1.. but in return we are left with so many more.. but those too are answered. This book is full of twist and turns.. Kit is still holding some secrets back from Eves and if he wants this thing with her to work he has to keep her in the loop of whats going on.

This book had me on the edge of my seat! and I soooo can not wait to Nick's book!!

This is such an amazing story. I absolutely loved the characters. There were times I struggled with the "English" english language and how it differs from American english. Like the first book this book was a little slow for me to read, but I am glad I read it. It picked up where Kit left off and followed Eve, Kit, and the other Carson brothers through more danger. It will be interesting to see where this series leads.

And we picked up right where book one left off leaving me broken hearted. The banter and sarcasm still kept me very engrossed in the story although it was not prevalent until later in the story. I feel this book really brought together everything that remained unanswered for me from book 1

This is the 2nd book in this amazing series and continues straight on from where the 1st novel ended. In this story many questions are answered, and some new twists are introduced along the way. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster throughout, as well as being filled with action, secrets, mystery, intrigue, and love. I highly recommend for all readers and cannot wait to read the next novel in this series.

SR has done it again with this highly anticipated, mind blowing, action-packed, and heartfelt continuation of the Carson Brothers Series. This is part two of Kit and Eve’s story that began in the first book of the series, Kit which I highly recommend reading prior to this for a better experience.

I had been waiting for more of Kit and Eve since I read the last word in Kit and SR did not disappoint. Their story continues just as great as it began and their love story continues to grow. Through the good and bad, ups and downs these two survive it all with their love, the help of friends and family and of course Delta.

Highly recommended!♥︎

In general, I really love Kit and Eves' story, and I absolutely adore all the characters; especially the Carson brothers and Lily are both hilarious, soft hearted and fierce.

HOWEVER, I can't rate it 5 stars because I feel it has some issues.

Especially at the end there are some chronology issues that annoyed me a little.
It felt like the author either didn't truly understand her topic and sped over certain details, making the events seem unrealistic (referring to last chapter).

That said, I'm definitely reading the following book about Nick, because all in all this series is a great read with an intriguing plot and nerve wrecking twists.

How far will you go to protect the ones you love?
*e-book generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Eve and Kit’s story continues in the second book of the Carson Brothers series. Once again, the story’s set in Hull, UK. After the cliffhanger of book one, Eve must decide if she can trust Kit. There are bigger things at stake now than just their love for each other. How can Kit protect and provide for his love when his love doesn’t even trust him anymore?

Reading this right after finishing book one, I realized that Eve is not that innocent anymore in book two. Her predicament has changed and now she acts on behalf of more than just herself. She’s moved on from being the traumatized little girl that Kit easily impressed. Now, she’s giving him a hard time. She’s so emotional in this book (and in no way do I say this in a demeaning manner) and I just enjoyed her lashing out at people. They all deserved it LOL.
I have to give a shoutout to Lilly. She’s badass in this book. She’s exactly the type of friend Eve needed in book two.
Kit hasn’t changed much. He’s still the playboy with the big eyes and the big lies… (subtle Lana Del Rey reference) IS HE THOUGH? Eve goes through an enormous amount of stress trying to figure out what exactly goes on with Kit. He doesn’t make it easy either. Book 2 delved deeper into the aspects of the Delta organisation, something that had come out of book one as the big plot twist. Kit is Eve’s guide in the world of Delta and it’s such a bumpy road (Ugh I love that word choice).
In book two, we see just how far people go to protect the ones they love. We also see that family isn’t always what you expect them to be, loving, caring and devoted. Family can be a huge piece of work that comes back to haunt you.

Wonderful continuing story

As with her previous book Kit, S.R. Dyble had me totally captivated with EVES. Picking up exactly where Kit left off, this is the continuing story of love, although a ver complicated one. EVES is a more intense story s there is a lot more danger and a lot more at stake for both Eve and Kit.

Ms Dyble kept me on the edge of my seat with her ability to write great suspense and numerous twists, that had my head spinning. A lot of questions were answered from book 1, however now many more have arisen - hopefully to be answered in Nick, which is the next book.

Eve and Kit have a complcated relationship, however it is obvious that they fit together perfectly. They really do have connection between them that is unbreakable. Kit is holding back secrets from Eve, secrets tht he really needs to be open and honest about ... especially if he wants to keep her. Kit has matured since the first book, but he still has a way to go. What I admire most bout him i his absolute love and devotion for Eve ... it is unwavering. He my be cocky at times, but that's what makes him such a loveable character. Eve may seem to be a bit scatterbrained at times, but I put that down to her situation and what he is going through. It is their tender moments though, that really made my hert melt.

Kit's brothers really bring a lighter side to this story. They are hilarious and constantly had me laughing out loud with their antics and their comments. I cn only hope that each one of them if given their own story.

EVES is definitely a MUST READ. Now to wait for Nick's book.

Yes t much awaited for continuation of Kit, this authors debut novel. Having loved Kit, i had expectations for this next chapter on their bumpy ride to love and i have to say, I was not disappointed!!

Eve is Pregnant and emotional, dealing with everything she had learned doesn’t make it easy to trust neither Kit nor his brothers. Still grieving the loss of her family, she’s feeling a little lost, alone and vunerable.

I kind of loved the push pull of these two, and the relationships they were building as they all became a family you would definitely want to be part of. At times i wanted to kick both their asses, yet at the same time i fully understood their whys to each of their behaviours. Kits need to protect Eve at whatever cost to himself and Eves need to not be kept in the dark just because she was pregnant. But rest assured, with Kit, Eves, and the brothers Grim (Nick, Jax, Jason & Eric) as i nick named them around there is never a dull minute and plenty of Lusting after these hot Totties !!

The author yet again kept us on the emotional roller coaster, with clues and mysteries along the way, keeping me riveted to the pages. I may have shouted at my kindle and shed a few tears whilst sitting on the edge of my seat for what was to come next.

So if you haven’t read Kit grab it now, and be ready to get swept away with Eves and Kits Journey !!!

A must read duet from a debut author

EVERYONE, and I mean everyone needs to read this duet from S R Dyble. What an amazing debut pair of books this young author has released. Usually I am note taking like a demon in order to write a review, but even that couldn’t distract me from this second book!

Eves picks up exactly where Kit finishes, so you absolutely have to read Kit (Carson Brothers #1) first, and in this second book, many of the questions I had were answered. The brutal world that Eves, her grandparents, and her best friend Lilly found themselves thrust into is full of betrayal, and nutcases.....

There is so much that I loved about this book. The relationship between Eves and Kit, Eves friendship with Lilly and the undying loyalty between them, Eves’ grandparents, so strong and amazing, even after everything that they have lost along with Eves, and last of all, those four hot alpha Australian Carson brothers. Ms Dyble has totally nailed the typical Aussie banter between them.

Do I want to read more Carson brother books from this author – oh hells to the yes!!! Luckily we also know that Nick’s book is next, and if he doesn’t get it right with Lilly, she’s going to hand his balls to him on a plate, because Eves’ best friend takes no prisoners. She’s already proven that she will face down five huge Aussie males to have her girls’ back, and she’ll be taking no sh!t from anyone, least of all Nick.

5 Stars for this book that has everything from humour to heartbreak, and a high recommendation to read it 💖

Kit, the first book was a good premise to this series and Eves, the follow up book's story continues the suspense and danger following Eves' life.

For the first half of the story, I felt slightly disoriented (it's been a while since I've read the first book) and while reading, I felt like the story dragged for the most part. I could, however, blame the holidays for that though. So, in order to be fair to the author, I restarted the book and it eventually pick up where originally I was feeling bored and frustrated with all the secret keepings and some other. It might have something to do with the way the book was written. UK slang is not something I'm used to in reading a book but of course, I went in knowing that it'll be like that and I know that eventually, I will be able to ride it out and thankfully, I did.

All I can say is that the author has a great vision in her stories even though her plot devices and attack to plotting drags a little bit, she can, however, pull off a banging twists and turns which I loved.

Over all, I can safely say that I trust the author's visions in this series and I'm going ti stick around and see where she would lead us in the long run.

I was so excited to read the continuation of Eves and Kit's story. There was a lot going on in here so I think the author did a great job with the flow and timeline as well as keeping details in order. I enjoyed the story, however, for me the chemistry wasn’t quite there in the first half of the book. Maybe it was the tension between them that didn’t allow me to feel it. Whatever the reason it really started coming together for me about sixty per cent of the way through, so I ended up loving it.

Eves is kind of a mess in this one, I felt she really wasn’t herself. I missed her witty comebacks for a lot of the story and was glad when she finally got her spunk back. She’s been through so much and I get her hesitation and reluctance to trust but she really went a bit overboard. I kind of felt bad for Kit as he was just doing his job yet she was constantly questioning his motives. I’m looking forward to reading more about them in the rest of the series. I loved getting to know Lilly better, especially since Nick’s book is next.

I am looking forward to the next book about Nick and hoping to get a book for each brother. I’m not sure if this is the plan but, since the series is the Carson Brothers, I am hopeful.

This second story continues directly after book one, Kit, finishes...thankfully. It’s great how we get back into the story immediately without all of the revisiting of storyline parts. However if you haven’t read Kit I recommend you do so first.

Kit Carson is one fine hunk of man, well all of the Carson brothers are really. His whole world revolves around Eve however he stuffs up quite a bit. 🤣 Eve likewise is still quick to assume things but we do notice her growing up more as the book progresses.

Once again there is some excellent humour that is often sarcastic but on point and at times it can be very subtle as well as very funny. Also there is some fantastic drama which has you on the edge of your seat with anticipation.

It is fundamentally a love story that has very real aspects. There are many ups and downs, trust issues and learning to live with each other. The ending is truly magical and now I have to be patient for Nick’s story in book three.

3.5 stars!!

This is book two in the “Carson Brothers” series and can not be read as a stand alone. This is the rest of Kit and Eves story.

I was completely head over heels for book one. I adore this book. Because I love the characters, I love the story line and I think the banter is hilarious!

It irks me a little that a certain someone shows up and then is never heard from again when I am sure he doesn’t go down that easy. But maybe we will find out more in Nick’s book.

I think my biggest problem is some things feel out of place and I felt the need to skim. Like it wasn’t moving and I am little bummed because I freaking love these brothers. But with that said I think the story itself could be a 5 star book. Just some changes.

I love Kit and Eve. I love how they have grown together. I kept waiting for the next evil thing to come throughout this book so it definitely kept me on my toes.

Eves (Carson Brothers, #2) by S.R. Dyble is one of those books that I should have written the review right when I finished the book. I got a mixture of emotions all throughout the read, I'm laughing, frustrated and then I get a rush of adrenaline from the suspense. I waited patiently for book two since I was left hanging off a cliff from book one. I needed answers. Yes, I did get all my questions answered from Eves's story.
If you're looking for a story with a tight-knit group of hot as hell brothers, action, and a relationship between Kit and Eves that has lots of issues to overcome ... this is it but you have to read the first book, KIT. I do enjoy this author's writing and I'm a big fan of the Carson brothers, there is just some knit-picking when it comes to the flow of the story. It had me and lost me along the way a few times, luckily for me, I'm a stubborn reader. I knew this author would pull through and give me that ending these characters deserve.

I was eagerly anticipating the next instalment to the Carson Brother’s series and I wasn’t disappointed.
SR Dyble has written a captivating follow up to KIT.

Eve and Kit’s journey continues to be a bumpy road with lots of twists and turns. A new way of life is hard to get used to and Eve’s struggles are real. Building trust only for it to be shattered by an enemies,
adds a thrilling dangerous element again to the story, which had me turning the pages eager to find out what happens next.

There is no denying Kit and Eve’s chemistry is positively explosive, but I also loved their tender moments. Add in a great bunch of supporting cast, the story was well balanced and a pleasure to read.

Can’t wait to read book number 3, Nick. He has proved to be an intriguing character in book 1 & 2 and look forward to hearing more from him.

This is the second book in this series and it is the second piece of Kit and Eve's story and yes, you really must read book one, Kit first. I'm going to be 100% upfront here and say that I have had some pretty big issues with Kit and by the end of book was I was truly not a fan. However, my opinion did improve some with this book. I did like Eve though and the overall story was engaging. This book really intensified the emotions, drama and suspense. I will let you know that this read ends on a soft happy for now and a lot of unanswered questions. I would highly recommend to this author that they try to disclose the whole cliffhangers and overarching story line of this series of books because there are so many readers that are rabid in the need to be aware of this before reading a book and they will often judge a book harshly because of it. I am posting an independent, impartial review.
