About this ebook

Josie flinches as she takes in the faded blue sports jacket wrapped around the girl they just pulled from the water. Josie knew someone who’d once owned that jacket. He had died in her arms five years ago.

Heavy rain pours on the small town of Denton causing the riverbanks to break and the body of a young girl to float quietly to the surface. With no crime scene to examine, the odds are against Detective Josie Quinn and her team. Mercifully, the victim’s body is perfectly preserved, right down to the baseball patch on the jacket she was wearing. Josie can’t hide her devastation—her dead ex-husband, Ray, owned one just like it.

Following the trail back to her high school, Josie identifies the girl as Beverly Urban, a troubled student rumored to have been dating Ray before she left town for good. It looks like a tragic accident until the autopsy reveals a bullet in her head and the heart-breaking secret she was keeping.

Josie visits the salon where Beverly’s mother used to work, believing she was at the heart of a terrible scandal around the time her daughter’s life was taken. With the Denton wives remaining tight-lipped, Josie’s only hope is a secret meet-up with a terrified woman willing to talk. But she is murdered moments before giving Josie crucial information. It’s clear that someone is prepared to keep on killing to stop the truth from getting out.

Digging deep into memories of her own past with Ray is the only advantage Josie has on this twisted killer… but at what cost?

Another jaw-dropping crime thriller from an Amazon, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author that will have you absolutely gripped from page one. Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Robert Dugoni and Rachel Caine.

I have to be completely honest right off the bat and admit that this is the first book in the Josie Quinn series I have read! I can hear the fans screaming at me “seriously!” and “how could you not have read any before?” And I really don’t have a better answer other than Lisa had only come through on my radar since stating my book blog in 2019. So why jump on board now you may ask? The answer, I have read so many great things about these books and what a fantastic author Lisa is, that I decided to just bite the bullet and go for it. You would think that someone that is starting book 9 in such an established series would have absolutely no hope in following along right? Wrong! I had no trouble at all. Phew! Lisa has put together a thrilling plot that sees the body of a young girl float to the surface from under a house where the riverbank has broken due to heavy rains. When reading this, I couldn’t help but refer it to my all time favourite show, Twin Peaks and its hook “She’s Dead, Wrapped in Plastic” although in this case “Wrapped in a Tarp! The plot thickens when the girl is pulled from the water and is wearing a jacket like the one Josie’s dead husband, Ray, owned… What I have taken from this story is that Lisa puts Josie through the wringer a lot and really puts her resolve to the test! She is such a formidable character and I completely resonated her. She is one bad you know what and I look forward to going back to the previous books when I can and get to know her more. It wasn’t hard for me to see that she is a strong protagonist and is the perfect lead in the series. I loved Lisa’s writing and how she was able to hook me in to the story instantly. There was no time to settle in and get comfortable as it moved at high speed, barely slowing down until the final page. I enjoyed the twists and turns and the curve balls thrown in that kept me off the track until Lisa was good and ready to reveal all, which is done perfectly. Save Her Soul is a fast paced gripping crime thriller, that will have you on the edge of your seat furiously flicking through the pages. For a series to be at its 9th book means that Lisa is still on a winner here and although I have a bit to catch up on, she most certainly has a new fan in me. It was an absolute pleasure to read and review Save Her Soul which I highly recommend. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Lisa Regan for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Save Her Soul which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Detective Josie Quinn and her team are called to investigate when a woman's body is seen floating in the flood waters of their small town. Seems she was buried under one of the houses and when the house broke apart, her body floated to the surface. Fortunately the woman's body is perfectly preserved.... she's even wearing a special leather jacket ... one that belonged to her ex-husband. But he's been dead 5 years so how did this woman wind up with it? Josie identifies the girl as Beverly Urban, both were in high school at the same time. It looks like a tragic accident until they find the bullet in her brain ... and the secret she was keeping. As all this author's books, SAVE HER SOUL is well written with mystery and suspense starting on the very first page. The book takes place partly in Josie's memory of her high school years as she was in love with her future husband to be ... and the victim, who also had thing for the young man. There was a lot of angst between Josie and Beverly. The mystery deepens as Beverly's mother, who has been missing 16 years, appears and wants to talk to Josie. But the mother is murdered before that happens. The character are skillfully drawn and being a small town, there are lots of lies and secrets waiting to be uncovered. Although 9th in the series, it is easily read. I highly recommend reading all in this series .... Many thanks to the author / Bookouure / Netgalley for the digital copy of this continuing crime fiction/ thriller. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

What can I say Lisa Regan does it again. I just love the Josie Quinn series and hope there are many more to come. I have not read all the books in the series yet and have not read them in order. Even though this is a series it does not have to be read like that. I understood what was going on even though I have not read them all. This book was about Josie trying to figure out who killed someone from her past that made her teenage years miserable. She had to dig deep inside herself to remember what happened that far back. Who can she trust? Can she trust her instincts to find the real killer? Is the killer someone close to her that she knows and loves? Or is the killer someone that no one even thought of? You find all the answers and much more by the end of the book. I want to start off by saying that I love this series and the way Lisa Regan portrays Josie Quinn. Josie to me is brave, fearless and gets the job done. She knows just what to do and say to get her perp. I loved the way this book was written. Since I haven’t read all the books and not in order I got to see more of her past and what she was like in her teenage years in this book. Some of the chapters went back and forth from past to present and I loved that. I always love a good back story and that is what Josie has. I also loved the roller coaster of an ending. I didn’t expect that twist in the end. I knew that something was off the whole entire book but I didn’t know that is was going to be a whopper of an ending. I would’ve never guessed it in a million years. Kudos to Lisa Regan for that ending. I can’t wait to read more in this series. Between the plot, characters and all the twists in this book it made it an easy and fast read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
