Carmine Gorga is president of The Somist Institute and a Fulbright Scholar. He is the founder of Concordian economics. He has published seven books and numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Gorga is a regular contributor to TalkMarkets, OpEd News,, Mother Pelican, and Econintersect: Econintersect is among the Top 100 Websites for Enlightened Economists. He has presented two petitions on the Internet: One is designed to "Mend the Fed" and the other to "Defuse the Bomb" of the incoming financial crash. He has been described as an economist for the modern world. Mend the Fed at http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/a-patriotic-petition-1?source=c.em&r_by=2016207 Defuse the Bomb at http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/the-jubilee-solution During sixty years of research and publication, 27 of them powerfully assisted by Professor Franco Modigliani, a Nobel Laureate in economics at MIT, Dr. Gorga has developed a new system of thought in which everything is logically and harmoniously related to everything else. There are three major component elements to this system: Concordian economics, Somism, and Relationalism. Concordian economics offers an integration of economic theory, policy, and practice; Somism integrates the Individual in Society; Relationalism presents Rationalism in full bloom, by integrating the foundational elements of all the sciences into a common mental framework. Some of this work, which is still in progress, is presented in two websites: The Relational University of Gloucester, MA (https://www.therelationaluniversityofgloucestermass.org/) and Relationalism.org (http://www.relationalism.org). Mr. Gorga holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Naples and an M.A. in International Relations from the John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). The University of Naples is the university of Thomas Aquinas, Giambattista Vico, Alfonso de Liguori, and Benedetto Croce. His Alma Mater was the first University in Europe to establish a separate chair for economics (separate from the moral sciences). He was born in the Deep South of Southern Italy in the year of the Lord, as they used to say, 1935. That was in the midst of the Great Depression, which was soon followed by WW II—and the hoarding of basic foodstuff. The smell of burned flesh is still in his nostrils; and the pains of hunger too widespread to discuss. Clearly, he has deep reasons to be a practicing economist and a pacifist. He is married to the beautiful Joan M. Gorga; they live in a colonial house in Gloucester, MA; they have one son, Jonathan, who is a writer and owns the smallest comics bookstore on earth, in New York City, on Carmine Street. Where else?
