Love is the universal language that unites us all 🇪🇺 + 🏳️🌈 = ❤️ Unfortunately, discrimination and prejudice still deny too many Europeans the freedom to love without fear, shame, or judgment. On International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, we stand together against all forms of discrimination and hate. So, let's come together to create a #UnionOfEquality, where: 🌈 every individual can live their truth without fear of rejection or harm 🌈 love is celebrated in all its forms, and everyone can thrive without apology Because there is never a mistake in love. Only love. ❤️ Join us in our quest for equality and learn more about our efforts to protect and support LGBTIQ people→ https://europa.eu/!Dggw9g #EU4LGBTIQ #IDAHOBIT

Today is Vyshyvanka Day 🇺🇦    Marked every third Thursday of May, this Ukrainian holiday is a symbol of unity. It takes its name from the traditional shirt embroidered with ethnic patterns known as “Vyshyvanka”.    What started 18 years ago with some students deciding to wear these traditional embroidered outfit is now a tradition followed by Ukrainian people and their friends worldwide.    In these difficult times, it is even more important to keep Ukraine’s culture and traditions vibrant.     To the people of Ukraine, we stand with you, today and in the long run.    #StandWithUkraine

    • The image is a promotional graphic for Vyshyvanka Day. It features a white, textured fabric background, resembling traditional embroidery cloth. In the center, there is a circular pattern made up of blue and yellow floral motifs, which are typical of Ukrainian embroidery designs. Below the circular pattern, the text 'Vyshyvanka day' is written in bold blue letters. At the bottom of the image, there is the logo of the European Commission. In solidarity we prepare, and united we stand.  We are boosting our preparedness against wildfires for this summer through the #rescEU fleet and a strategic pre-positioning of firefighters. This means: 🔸 24 aeroplanes and 4 helicopters hosted by ten EU countries;   🔹 550+ firefighters from twelve countries on standby.     We have also allocated €600 million that will facilitate the acquisition of 12 new firefighting planes and several helicopters in the future.  Learn more about our measures → https://europa.eu/!xmMQqg #EUCivilProtection #EuropeanUnion

More than 1 in 2 people are considered at risk of depression across the EU.  Mental distress also comes at a high financial cost – representing no less than 4% of GDP.    This European Mental Health Week, we announced the following new commitments to promote mental health:    🔸 €11 million from EU4Health to identify gaps and build capacity with WHO/Europe,  🔸 a €9 million EU-PROMENS project for multidisciplinary training for healthcare professionals,  🔸 a further €10 million to support the mental health of vulnerable groups, such as children and refugees.    These initiatives add to our comprehensive approach to mental health which is already investing €1.23 billion into 20 flagship initiatives.    Because there is no health without mental health.    #HealthUnion #MentalHealthWeek
