Has it been a year already? Earlier this week, we launched the 2024 PHX Ireland Recognition Awards. After the success of 2023, CEO Paul Reilly said that he was delighted to launch this year’s awards, giving our teammates yet another opportunity to recognise and celebrate the remarkable contributions of each other  across the organisation via peer recognition. This year’s awards categories have been revamped to align with our new PHX Ireland Values more closely, Customer Focused, Quality Driven, Inclusive, Collaborative, Innovative & Ambitious. These categories will allow us to showcase the individuals and teams in our organisation that truly embody our values. The awards aren’t just about the winners. It is a huge achievement to be nominated by your peers. A nomination shows that you are hard working and dedicated and have made an impact on your colleagues. The whole process, from nomination to shortlist, to the awards event is about recognising people and celebrating their efforts and achievements. Each year, we are blown away by the stories and comments shared through nominations and find ourselves with very difficult decisions to make when it comes to finalist selection. We fully expect this year to be no different. Award season at PHX Ireland is always an amazing time in the company, and we look forward to learning about all the amazing things teammates from across the organisation have accomplished in the past year. We currently have eight Erasmus + students on placement in Lloyds Pharmacies throughout Dublin. Five from the University of Navarra, Spain and three from the University of Moderna in Italy. Erasmus + is an EU Programme aimed at offering students access to high quality, inclusive education as well as informal, and non-formal learning, ultimately equipping participants with the qualifications and skills needed to help them in their chosen careers. Each student is a final year pharmacy student and will complete a three-month placement in pharmacy focusing on: o  Understanding the role of the pharmacist in Ireland o  Pharmacy in Ireland (government schemes, claims, etc) o  Dispensary/OTC The programme offers each student a unique opportunity to receive on the job training, while also developing their English language skills and developing relationships with colleagues and their communities. As all our current cohort are based in Dublin, they were treated recently to a trip to the Cliffs of Moher to experience a small part of the Wild Atlantic Way. A very different landscape to Dublin City. We are delighted to continue our partnership with the Universities of Navarra, and Moderna and look forward to seeing more of their aspiring pharmacists in pharmacies in Ireland long into the future. #wePHOENIX #wedeliverhealth #ourpeople

At PHX Ireland, we truly care about the wellbeing of our colleagues. We believe that people who are treated well, appreciated, and listened to are happier, healthier, and more productive. Since the start of 2024, we have been running wellbeing programmes, including yoga onsite, financial wellbeing seminars, we have given our colleagues access to online gym sessions, launched a wellness blog and even developed a healthy eating cookbook. As today is Workplace Wellbeing Day, we made sure that colleagues from across the business knew where and how to access these supports, and that, if necessary, they can access our Employee Assistance Programme. There might have been some treats as well, it’s all about balance after all! We will continue to provide colleagues with access to supports and initiatives and to run talks, workshops, and sessions to help improve the wellbeing of everyone at PHX Ireland. Happy Workplace Wellbeing Day

As Irelands leading fully integrated healthcare provider, we are proud of our mission - We deliver health. This World Immunisation week we celebrate the lifesaving power of vaccines and thank those in the healthcare sector that work tirelessly to create and rollout these programmes. PHX Ireland Group employs over 1,800 talented and experienced people, all passionate about supporting their customers and patients and striving to enhance the quality of life for millions of patients every single day. By working collaboratively together, PHX Ireland can enable a sustainable healthcare system and support Irish Healthcare needs. As part of the PHOENIX group PHX Ireland has access to Europe’s leading healthcare provider, and are continuously improving our offering to drive Irish Healthcare forward. In the last few years during the pandemic, progress on immunisation has slipped (WHO). World Immunisation Week takes place from 24 - 30 April 2024 and we are highlighting the WHO’s call for vaccination in light of the recent Measles outbreak. The Spring Booster for Covid-19 is now available for older people and those that are immunocompromised. Seasonal boosters are recommended for some people at higher risk of COVID-19 illness. Vaccines protect serious illness in the recipient and those in our communities who cannot be vaccinated. For more information on vaccines visit HSE.ie or speak with your GP or Pharmacist.

At PHX Ireland, we aim to foster a supportive environment for all colleagues. We want our people to feel safe, and comfortable when they come to work. Recently, we had the pleasure of offering a work placement to Lia, a participant in the Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities (TCPID) programme. Lia told us that she really enjoyed her time at PHX Ireland, specifically with the Learning & Development team. When asked about her favourite part of the experience, she couldn’t decide, which is a testament to the inclusive and welcoming atmosphere within the business. However, the placement wasn't without challenges as Lia said that working with Excel was the biggest hurdle having not had much exposure to it previously. Despite this, she praised the patience and assistance provided by colleagues, and is delighted to now have a better understanding of the software. Lia hadn't experienced an office atmosphere before, and appreciated the kindness of colleagues and enjoyed that she could listen to music if she started to feel overwhelmed during work. Encouragingly, Lia said she would recommend PHX Ireland and the TCPID programme to others as it is helping individuals with intellectual disabilities attain qualifications and prepare for future employment opportunities. Looking ahead, she is excited about securing a part-time job post-college and spending more time with friends and family. We are delighted to have worked with Lia and are confident that she has a very successful future ahead of her. We also look forward to continuing our partnership with the TCPID programme. For more information on the TCPID programme, visit TCPID - Trinity College Dublin (tcd.ie). #wePHOENIX #wedeliverhealth #ourpeople #diversityandinclusion Marie Devitt, Elizabeth Mahon, Pablo Calal
